Aims...

for Personal Safety Workshops and Courses

Wise Women address women’s fears and experiences of crime and violence through the provision of Personal Safety and Confidence Building courses and workshops which will increase self esteem and skills for identifying, avoiding and escaping potentially dangerous situations including:

  • Safety on the Streets

  • Safety on public transport

  • Safety at Work

  • Safety in the Home

  • Domestic Abuse

  • Child Protection

  • Rape and Sexual Assault

  • Bullying and Harassment

Our courses and workshops also build confidence through discussion and challenging damaging women blaming attitudes that can lead to harmful practices and behaviours. In addition we provide information on local agencies and initiatives for ongoing support if required.

We can provide the sessions in a variety of formats: 5 to 10 week courses, workshops, full or half day Personal Safety sessions for service users or staff etc. If you let us know what you require then we can discuss providing a tutor specific to your needs.

Please note that our courses are open to women of all ages, abilities and fitness levels.

Courses for Women whose first language is not English (including Deaf Women) may need interpreters. Should this be the case please let us know so we can set planning meetings up with interpreters.

If you would like to discuss proceeding with Personal Safety workshops or courses, or if you need any more information then please do not hesitate to contact us.
